Bulk Food-Grade Acids

Buy bulk food-grade acids by the kilogram — citric acid, malic acid, lactic acid, tartaric acid, phosphoric acid 75%, plus lemon and lime juice concentrates. The same acidulants LiquidShop supplies to beverage and food manufacturers across Canada, sold with no minimum order.

For manufacturers: food-grade and USP/FCC-grade materials with published spec sheets and COAs on request. Formats run from 1 kg to 25 kg with automatic volume pricing on 5+ kg — the workhorses of soft drink, energy drink, candy and preserve formulation, for pH control, tartness and flavor enhancement.

For home users: citric acid is the all-purpose staple — homemade sodas and syrups, kombucha, bath bombs, sour candy, canning and descaling. Malic acid brings the sharp "green apple" bite for sour candy makers, and tartaric acid is essential for winemaking and homebrew. Pure powder by the kg, far cheaper than grocery-store shakers, shipped anywhere in Canada.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between citric, malic and tartaric acid?

Citric is the standard all-purpose acidulant with a clean, bright sourness. Malic hits harder and lingers — the "green apple" bite used in sour candy. Tartaric is the grape-native acid essential in winemaking. Many beverage formulas blend two or three.

Is your citric acid food grade — can I use it for canning and homemade drinks?

Yes, our citric acid is food grade (USP), perfect for canning, homemade sodas, kombucha and bath bombs alike. The spec sheet is on the product page.

How much citric acid do I use in a homemade soda or electrolyte drink?

A typical starting point is 1–3 g per litre, adjusted to taste. Combine with sodium citrate to buffer the acidity for a smoother profile.

Do you supply acids in 25 kg bags for manufacturers?

Yes — most acids are stocked in 25 kg formats with volume pricing from 5 kg, with spec sheets and COAs for your quality system.
